James C. Harper

	Mr. James C. Jimmie Harper, age 81, of Alpharetta, Ga., died Sunday, June 4.  He was the son of the late Mr. James J. and Estella June Harper of DuQuoin.
	As a Radio announcer and TV personality, Mr. Harper became well know as Jimmie to his friends and fans.  Jimmies career started in DuQuoin in 1936 and spanned the next 50 years until his retirement in 1986.  Most of his career was spent in the Atlanta area and in Florida.
	Mr. Harper was a Navy veteran of World War II.  
	He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Marjorie Harper; two sons, James C. Harper, Jr. of Norcross and John F. Harper of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; one daughter, Sherlyn Crandall of Dunwoody and seven grandchildren, Jason and John Crandall of Dunwoody, Brian and Christopher Harper of Norcross and Vanessa, Elizabeth and Matthew Harper of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
	Funeral services were Friday, June 9, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Mansell Road Chapel at Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, GA.  Interment was in Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell.
